What Color OF Leather Couches The Best? Cream or Burgandy?

I think cream is better
Both colours look great in leather, but they both may have drawbacks depending on the conditions of your use of the couch. I have design experience in using both colours in various jobs.

When it comes to choosing cream, the main concern is keeping it clean. It will definately show more wear and tear and discolouration than a darker shade. I don't recommend it with children, pets, use in a family room or any room that is the mainly lived in area of the house. It's not just the typical house dust and dirt that will get into it, but things like clothing dyes ( denim ) can rub off and leave slight staining. The seat and arms will also discolour faster than the back and the outside shell will. It is important to discuss the cleaning issue with your funiture salesman, because their are many different leathers and different qualities and features of these leathers which affect the wear and cleanability. ( the price will obviously indicate the quality )

Burgundy is a dream colour in leather with it's rich, deep tone. As with brown, it ages well and if well made, can actually improve in looks with a little wear and tear. It won't easily stain, and discolouration is less noticable. If you have pets though, scratches on the arms etc., will show more than on a light leather. I myself have a burgundy leather couch which was sold to me as a ';scratch resistant'; leather. Well, my cat proved them wrong, but it looks good in spite.

As well as colour and quality, styling is important in how long it will keep its appearance. It's best if the leather isn't upholstered too tight, and that the filling is softer but still dense. A cushy, deep feel with a more relaxed leather styling will show less wear spots on seat cushions, arms etc. than if it was pulled taut and made prone to abrasion or scuffing.

So, consider your usage, lifestyle, and who all will be sitting on it as well as style, and the quality and properties of the type of leather you are choosing.

And lastly, I would like to compliment you on the 2 colours you are considering. A good leather piece looks better in more sophisticated natural tones of cream, tan, brown, or richer, deep tones such as burgundy, black, dark dark greens or navys. Vibrant or bright unnatural colours cheapen the look of most leather furniture unless it is a smaller, decorative accent piece.

I hope this helps.
burgandy
Cream goes with more, but Burgandy will hide the dirt/stains better.
stick with cream or light beige. they are more in the earth color category. burgundy is for pimps - 6 months from now you'll be asking '; what was i thinking ';.
