What color should i paint the border on a red and cream room?

i have a very long narrow bedroom.

the long sides are going to be cream, and the short sides are going to be a deep, romantic, red color [so it will look more square]. I am going to have black accents, like curtains, and bedpost, and laps, etc. What color should i paint the border of the room? What color should i paint the border on a red and cream room?
A black cherry color- something that's an even deeper red than the walls, and reads as black in low light. What color should i paint the border on a red and cream room?
play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to help you imagine how the colors will look together. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family %26amp; color name, the ';painted'; rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think ';muddled basil'; (# 7745) might be a good choice.

You can take a photo of your house %26amp; upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions %26amp; for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.
Boarder at the top of the wall? or at chair rail height? If you paint your room cream on Three walls... and red on ONE, your room will still look more square.... sometimes when you put the same color on both ends of the room, it looks like your in a tunnel. As far as borders... crown molding (white like the ceiling) can also square up a room, and its a GREAT accent boder that adds a lot to the room by just being white. As far as a chair rail border... well, that could actually accent the narrow';ness'; of your bedroom by creating lines that your eye will follow.. forcing you to notice the length of the room. Crown is the way to go, in my opinion.
When you say the border do you mean the baseboard?

like these?

if yes paint them cream just like the window trims, you don't want to attract the eye to them, for one thing unless you are willing to dust them at least once a week because the dust will show more on black , use black in other things like lamps, picture frames .
It should be consistent with the room adjacent to it.
I think it should be black to match the accents :))
I would say black are red
Black or white.
leave it white
hmm...maybe a dark foresty green?
