I have soaked them in diluted Clorox....tried vinegar too. I have dried them in the sun. Just can't seem to restore the crisp color. soak them in the bath tub with some white vinegar, lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda.

Try Oxy Clean you can soak them in a sink full of water and oxy clean OR in a big tub full of water and oxy clean. Oxy clean is good for brightening colors and removing stains. You can also try soaking them in Color Bleach if none of this works take them and get them dry cleaned.

Washing by hand usually means the fabric cannot withstand the churning and pulling of a washer. I would use regular laundry soap with a bleach alternative in the biggest container you have(probably your tub) use warm water and let them soak overnight. Unless they are very old and then I would have them cleaned professionally.

I have had the same problem. I have two differnt ways of cleaning them. First, I soak them in a solution of baking soda and as hot of water that the material can take. then wash as usual.If they are really bad you can try the second way, but be warned test on the material first because it can damage really fine material. The second way is to soak them in hydrogen peroxide, which is fairly inexpensive. Then wash as usual. Good Luck
