What color would go good with black and a cream color ? ?

I am opening a urban clothing store and I'm not good at decorating at all. We painted the walls a cream/light tan color and the trim and borders black, but it seems like it needs a bold color. The dressing room don't have a door, but it's going to have a curtain. should it be a black curtain ? What colors would go good with the two colors above ?

If your clients are young and hip, then I would suggest bright orange as the accent colour.In terms of colour psychology, orange is a happy colour, and promotes fun and energy, as well as self-esteem, all good things if you want your customers to spend lots o' cash!!





For the curtain, I would combine horizontal stripes of the black and the orange, the overall colour being black, with just one chunky horizontal stripe of orange about one third down the curtain panel. Stripes are very urban, and it will visually expand the width of your store.Then, you could take that same orange stripe, match it up with the exact width and position of the curtain, and paint this stripe all the way around the walls, meeting back up again with the curtain stripe, know what I mean? This breaks up the tan colour, and adds some movement into the space.





For another visually interesting accent, you could install a wall of sheets of orangy or brown colored fake brick wall panels, behind your cash desk.This would give you that cool urban loft look of the old exposed brick walls. These fake brick sheets can usually be found at large home building centres.





Then, on the brick wall, you could install a vintage neon sign, or neon clock, or a customed made neon-sign of your store's name! Good Luck and Much SUccess to You!! :-)

When in doubt, I always say look at sports teams colors. They already did all the research, might as well copy them!! San Diego Padres colors maybe are the closest thing to that...
